WORKING PRINCIPLE

Energy Management System (EMS)

As the "brain" of the energy storage system, EMS monitors the status of the power grid, the operating parameters of the energy storage system, and the power demand of the load in real time. Based on preset strategies and real-time data, it intelligently controls the charging and discharging process of the energy storage system. For instance, during peak and off-peak electricity price periods, EMS will automatically control the energy storage system to charge during off-peak hours and discharge during peak hours, maximizing economic benefits. When a power outage in the power grid is detected, EMS promptly activates the energy storage system to supply power to the load.

Bidirectional Converter (PCS)

The PCS is responsible for the bidirectional conversion of AC and DC electrical energy. During the charging process, it converts alternating current from the power grid or renewable energy power generation equipment into direct current to charge the energy storage battery pack. During the discharge process, the direct current of the battery pack is converted into alternating current that meets the load requirements and supplied to the load. Meanwhile, PCS can also regulate the power quality to ensure the stability of parameters such as voltage and frequency of the output power, meeting the power requirements of the load.

Energy storage battery pack

This is the core component of the energy storage system, used for storing electrical energy. The commonly used battery types at present include lithium-ion batteries, lead-acid batteries, flow batteries, etc. Lithium-ion batteries are widely used in industrial and commercial energy storage fields due to their advantages such as high energy density, long cycle life and low self-discharge rate. Battery packs are connected in series and parallel to form energy storage units of different capacities and voltage levels to meet the energy storage requirements of various scenarios.

Monitoring system

The monitoring system conducts real-time monitoring of all aspects of the energy storage system, including the voltage, current, and temperature of the battery pack, the operating status of the PCS, and the power consumption of the load, etc. Once abnormal data is detected, such as excessively high battery temperature or abnormal voltage fluctuations, the monitoring system immediately issues an alarm and feeds back the information to EMS so that corresponding protective measures can be taken to ensure the safe and stable operation of the energy storage system. Meanwhile, the monitoring system can also generate operation data reports, providing users with data analysis and decision support. ​

The economic benefits are remarkable

By taking advantage of the difference between peak and off-peak electricity prices, enterprises and commercial users can significantly reduce their electricity costs. It is estimated that in some regions with significant differences in peak-valley electricity prices, enterprises' annual electricity expenses can be reduced by 30% to 50%. ​

Energy storage systems can effectively address issues such as grid failures and voltage fluctuations, providing uninterrupted power supply for critical loads and reducing production losses and equipment damage caused by power outages.
